PRAYING FOR:EUROPE AND THE MIDDLE EAST Bob and Carol Cave Overseas Ministry Coordinator for Europe and the Middle East Pray for them as they lead us So much has happened this past year I'm looking forward to hearingeveryone's praise reports. Our personal praise reports are simply how theLord has led us each step of 2006 especially in knowing His ever nearpresence. Asking and receiving Holy Spirit leading in ministry from onecountry to the next. Carol and I thank the Lord for our health even down tolittle aches and pains. Then I hear our missionaries praise reports and I think how blessed wereally are to work with you and hear what God is doing on each of yourfields. Can I give you some thoughts for all of us via Oswald Chambers for yearend. He talks about security in the Lord: Security from yesterday.....God requires an account of what is past (Ecclesiastes 3:15) God is the God of our yesterdays, and He allows thememory of them to turn the past into a ministry of spiritual growth for ourfuture. God reminds us of the past to protect us from a very shallowsecurity in the present.Security of Tomorrow: "The Lord will go before you".. Isaiah 52:12 God willsend His forces out where we have failed to do so. He will keep watch sothat we will not be tripped up again by the same failures, as wouldundoubtedly happen if He were not our "rear guard". And God's hand reachesback to the past, settling all claims against our conscience.Security of Today: "you shall not go out with haste......" As we go forth inthe coming year, let it not be in the haste of impetuous, forgetful delight,nor with the quickness of impulsive thoughtlessness. But let us go out withthe patient power of knowing that the God of Israel will go before us. Letthe past rest, but let it rest in the sweet embrace of Christ. Let the broken, irreversible past in His hands, and step out into theinvincible future with Him. Portugal Tony and Patti Guasco Here at Nova Vida things are going well. We have had a salvation andinfilling of the Holy Spirit. We ask that you pray for Guido & Stephania(the owners of the house where we hold church), they need a financialbreakthrough. We will need a new place to hold church within a few monthsbecause of the growth, so as you can image we too need financialbreakthroughs. On that subject our oldest Child, Alisa is in Bible schoolin Dallas and she needs $1,000 dollars this month in order to finish thissemester - not to mention she needs $5,000 more to finish school completely. Our church here in Lisbon is trying to get registered with the government sowe ask for prayers for this as well. All in all we are doing well and God is really showing up in the servicesand pray meetings. The people are being challenged and some are growing byleaps and bounds. We are starting a series of evangelical meetings in thestreets of the Maltese towns and cities. France Marty Delmon My praise report is that when I was in London with Harold andKathleen Presley I gave one of my Buried Lies workshops at the Fountain ofLife church. The people received so easily, they were so open, and manylies were exposed and eliminated, planting the truth instead. It wasexhilarating for me to hear their testimonies afterwards. My request is that this prayer process continue to bless people everywhere,as everyone needs to get rid of the lies in their lives. Please pray for the distribution of my workbook, Buried Lies CompanionWorkbook, as it is a stand alone book that leads people to the root of a lieand directs them to successfully pull it out by the root and plant the truthin the place of the lie. Another praise report is that the number of radio stations has grown from 28to 48. Please pray that the Lord would provide a high speed CD duplicatoras each station requires its own CDs to be sent and that's a lot of manuallabor hovering over my little laptop. We thank the Lord that He has been with us while the riots anddemonstrations in Hungary raged on during the months of August throughOctober. At one point we did not know if it was going to be possible forour church planting and ministry teams to come to Hungary because of thecircumstances prevailing! Dave was told by our OMC Bob Cave that the WMMwas concerned whether or not, "the Fannins should be evacuated out ofHungary". Praise God that did not result. Many of the Christians wanted us to be apart of the demonstrations taking place especially in down town Budapest.Christians felt that they should be represented and that their voices shouldbe heard. We declined their offer stating that we are here as missionariesand that although we understood their plight, it would not be good for themission cause in the country for us to participate. Perhaps, it would evenhave made it harder for Christianity in this country if we were to beinvolved and be arrested. We assured them that we stood by them in theirtrial at this point in History. Continue to pray for Hungary. We are toldthat the problem is not over and that more demonstrations will take placeafter the holiday season. The enemy is not happy with the Christiancommunity in Hungary... please keep our people in your prayers. The mainproblem is that the president lied to the people of Hungary and they wanthim to step down and he refuses. Eighteen out of nineteen districts calledfor him to step down and he refuses. The conflict is on going. We thank God also that a Christian library here in Budapest has donated overtwo hundred books free of charge to our reading room. The young men and women are already signing out books. What better way toapproach these very cultured people than through what concerns them most,"BOOKS" and "INFORMATION". Praying for Romania Ben and Marianne Janssen Eastern Europe: Praise report: Last week was the first class of the CICM Romania Institute.Twenty-five students are enrolled and studied "Spiritual Disciplines" Thestudents were on fire about the subjects discussed and we see a start ofbetter leadership in our Romanian churches. Prayer request: As the economy in Romania starts to rise to Europeanstandards and the salaries remain at the previous levels, many of our IPHCchurch members suffer financially. Pray for them as they try to survive andare looking to God for help in these difficult circumstances. It was very unusual. Wehave prepared the program, have shown a fragment of film about the birth ofthe baby, children have made representation, and all these have touchedhearts of people, and in the end prayed repentance prayer. For some of thepeople it was the first Christmas in their lives, for some people it was thefirst time in the church. But the biggest surprise was prepared by our one Turkish brother. He dressedup in a Santa Claus suit and presented all adults and children Christmasgifts. Every one of us was surprised by such generosity and kindness. Maybethe reason is that Saint Nikolay (Santa Claus) comes from Turkey (city ofAntalia)? In the end we had a very warm fellowship and Christmas foodtogether. We wish you Happy New Year!!! Portugal Tony and Patti Guasco Here at Nova Vida things are going well. We have had a salvation andinfilling of the Holy Spirit. We ask that you pray for Guido & Stephania(the owners of the house where we hold church), they need a financialbreakthrough. We will need a new place to hold church within a few monthsbecause of the growth, so as you can image we too need financialbreakthroughs. On that subject our oldest Child, Alisa is in Bible schoolin Dallas and she needs $1,000 dollars this month in order to finish thissemester - not to mention she needs $5,000 more to finish school completely. Our church here in Lisbon is trying to get registered with the government sowe ask for prayers for this as well. All in all we are doing well and God is really showing up in the servicesand pray meetings. The people are being challenged and some are growing byleaps and bounds. France Marty Delmon My praise report is that when I was in London with Harold andKathleen Presley I gave one of my Buried Lies workshops at the Fountain ofLife church. The people received so easily, they were so open, and manylies were exposed and eliminated, planting the truth instead. It wasexhilarating for me to hear their testimonies afterwards. My request is that this prayer process continue to bless people everywhere,as everyone needs to get rid of the lies in their lives. Please pray for the distribution of my workbook, Buried Lies CompanionWorkbook, as it is a stand alone book that leads people to the root of a lieand directs them to successfully pull it out by the root and plant the truthin the place of the lie. Another praise report is that the number of radio stations has grown from 28to 48. We thank the Lord that He has been with us while the riots anddemonstrations in Hungary raged on during the months of August throughOctober. At one point we did not know if it was going to be possible forour church planting and ministry teams to come to Hungary because of thecircumstances prevailing! Dave was told by our OMC Bob Cave that the WMMwas concerned whether or not, "the Fannins should be evacuated out ofHungary". Praise God that did not result. Many of the Christians wanted us to be apart of the demonstrations taking place especially in down town Budapest.Christians felt that they should be represented and that their voices shouldbe heard. We declined their offer stating that we are here as missionariesand that although we understood their plight, it would not be good for themission cause in the country for us to participate. Perhaps, it would evenhave made it harder for Christianity in this country if we were to beinvolved and be arrested. We assured them that we stood by them in theirtrial at this point in History. Continue to pray for Hungary. We are toldthat the problem is not over and that more demonstrations will take placeafter the holiday season. The enemy is not happy with the Christiancommunity in Hungary... please keep our people in your prayers. The mainproblem is that the president lied to the people of Hungary and they wanthim to step down and he refuses. Eighteen out of nineteen districts calledfor him to step down and he refuses. The conflict is on going. We thank God also that a Christian library here in Budapest has donated overtwo hundred books free of charge to our reading room. The young men and women are already signing out books. What better way toapproach these very cultured people than through what concerns them most,"BOOKS" and "INFORMATION". Praying for Romania Ben and Marianne Janssen Eastern Europe: Praise report: Last week was the first class of the CICM Romania Institute.Twenty-five students are enrolled and studied "Spiritual Disciplines" Thestudents were on fire about the subjects discussed and we see a start ofbetter leadership in our Romanian churches. Prayer request: As the economy in Romania starts to rise to Europeanstandards and the salaries remain at the previous levels, many of our IPHCchurch members suffer financially. Please pray for our son Luis Antonio, for the last two and half years he hasbeen sick on and off and the doctor don't seem to help him get better. They are waiting on the Lord but they want to do God'swill. It was very unusual. Wehave prepared the program, have shown a fragment of film about the birth ofthe baby, children have made representation, and all these have touchedhearts of people, and in the end prayed repentance prayer. For some of thepeople it was the first Christmas in their lives, for some people it was thefirst time in the church. But the biggest surprise was prepared by our one Turkish brother. He dressedup in a Santa Claus suit and presented all adults and children Christmasgifts. Every one of us was surprised by such generosity and kindness. Maybethe reason is that Saint Nikolay (Santa Claus) comes from Turkey (city ofAntalia)? In the end we had a very warm fellowship and Christmas foodtogether. We wish you Happy New Year!!!
